Introduction

Ajou University has incorporated the IT-related undergraduate H/W and S/W fields that were included in the Electronic Engineering major of the School of Engineering and Computer Engineering, and the Digital Media major of the College of Information and Technology to launch the School of Information Technology in order to respond promptly to the IT-related educational trend of convergence and integration.

The College of Information Technology consists of 117 teaching faculty, some 2,300 undergraduate students, and roughly 400 graduate students, and it has produced some 7,000 graduates. All the graduates are playing major roles in various areas and actively supporting their alma mater. The college strives to cultivate leaders of a ubiquitous digital IT society with a long-term perspective and well-rounded knowledge in engineering.

To that end, it is providing students with both theoretical and practical IT education including a wide range of 12 sub-programs such as electronic devices, radio application, control systems, signal processing, communication systems, computer systems, computer communication, applied S/W, information protection, media S/W, image media, and media design. It also provides a continuous quality improvement curriculum, focusing on the internship program at home and abroad and expanding the intensive educational system Ajou University adopted for the first time in Korea. As Ajou University strives to become a world-class university, the College of Information Technology continues to do its best to produce students as competitive as those in any leading IT-related universities and institutions in the world.

Goal of Education

The College of Information Technology aims to cultivate highly skilled engineers with global competence, practical knowledge and professionalism in information technology through demand-oriented education. The following are the educational goals of the College of Information Technology in detail.
