Article 26 (Attendance), Student Affairs Management Rules for Undergraduates

Students must attend at least three-fourths of all classes per course per semester.
However, attendance may be recognized when students are forced to miss classes for any of the reasons listed below, provided that they are able to submit their written requests for attendance recognition and provide the required documentary evidence to their professors/lecturers within seven days following their absence:

Attendance Recognition for Working Students

Pursuant to Paragraph 2.6 of Article 26 (Attendance) of the Student Affairs Management Rules for Undergraduates, students who find full-time employment prior to graduation may have their attendance recognized subject to the President’s approval. Graduates-to-be with only one semester remaining who find it impossible to attend all of the required number of classes due to their full-time employment or job-seeking activities (interviews, physical checkups, etc.) may have their attendance recognized according to the following terms and conditions.

Required Documents

For jobseekers	Interview certificates, request for physical checkups (email, etc.), certificates for writing an examination, etc.
For students who have landed jobs	Certificate of employment, certificate of eligibility for workplace-based National Health Insurance (issued by the National Health Insurance Service), certificate of acceptance, etc.

Terms and Conditions

Within the first three weeks of given semester	Students must fulfill the requirements (writing exams, completing assignments, etc.) in order to have their attendance recognized.
After the first three weeks	Students must fulfill the requirements for attendance recognition as well as alternative learning and submit their academic performance information for review by a council of faculty members.

Notes

Students who wish to have their attendance recognized for a period of more than three weeks must submit their work for review and deliberation by a council of faculty members affiliated with their departments. (Prior to the council’s decision, students are required to attend classes in person.)
Students who wish to have their attendance recognized for double major, minor, or other major-related courses must also obtain signed approval from the professor of each course as well as the dean of the respective department.
Students who wish to have their attendance recognized for liberal arts courses must also obtain the approval of the professors in charge of those courses.
Students with entrepreneurial plans should consider either taking the on-the-job entrepreneurial training program or an entrepreneurial leave of absence.
